Inter 'sorry' to Filippo (9)

Inter Milan have apologised to a nine-year-old fan who turned up at the San Siro with a banner asking his team to win so he wouldn't be bullied at school.

"Could you win," read his banner (below). "Otherwise at school they will make fun of me. Thanks, Filippo."

Unfortunately there was no let up for Filippo on Monday morning as Inter continued their poor form, losing 3-0 to a Bologna side who started the weekend in 17th place. On Saturday, Inter owner Massimo Moratti ordered team officials to identify the boy and invite him to attend training the following day. There he would receive a personal apology from the players, led by captain Javier Zanetti (pictured), as well as a new replica shirt.

However, rival fans were less sympathetic: "Filippo: either change school or change team," read a banner held up by Juventus fans during their win over Catania.

Given Inter's run of six games without a win, Filippo might be excused for pulling a 'sickie'.
