Hutton furious over Coll red card
FINN HARPS manager Peter Hutton couldn't hide his anger with the match officials after his team's 1-1 FAI Cup quarter-final draw with Drogheda United in Ballybofey on Friday. The First Division strugglers looked to have earned victory through Kevin McHugh's first-half goal only for Mick Daly's late equaliser to set up a replay at Hunky Dorys Park tonight.
Referee Tom Connolly, on the advice of fourth official Rob Rogers, sent off Harps' Ciaran Coll for retaliating off the ball in a clash with David Cassidy early in the second half.
Hutton's ire with the fourth official saw him banished to the stand and the mild-mannered Harps' chief was still seething after the match.
Hutton was quick to observe that Harps right-back Damien McNulty had his two front teeth knocked out and midfielder Michael Funston had sustained a suspected broken nose.
"I thought some of the decisions were dubious to say the least," Hutton said.
Coll is suspended for tonight's replay and Funston also misses out due to work commitments. On the brighter side, Sean McCarron returns from suspension.
Drogheda will be without suspended duo Gavin Brennan and Mick Daly, while Cathal Brady (thigh) is a doubt.
