DERBY'S Jeff Hendrick will play for Noel King's Ireland U-21 side in their European Championship qualifier with Montenegro on March 5, WRITES DANIEL MCDONNELL.

Hendrick was not named as part of Martin O'Neill's squad and will instead help out his age group in Tallaght at 3.0 on the day of the senior clash with Serbia.

The FAI have yet to release King's squad, but Derby County announced the news last night. Hendrick is back involved with the Championship side following an ankle injury which ruled him out for three months.

Shamrock Rovers' opening League of Ireland clash with Derry City has been moved from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9 (5.25) so it can be broadcast live on RTE2.
