Harte Spot-on for Royals

IAN Harte rolled back the years on Saturday as he scored on his Reading debut -- from where else but the penalty spot.
The Drogheda man was one of two Irish scorers for the Royals as Shane Long also got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot in their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, after another Irishman Paddy McCarthy was guilty of conceding a spot kick. Jimmy Kebe rounded off the scoring to lift Reading to eighth in the table.
Liam Lawrence, meanwhile, made his debut for Portsmouth and helped them to an admirable 0-0 draw at home to Roy Keane's unbeaten Ipswich. The former Stoke man did have one of the better chances when he headed over from a cross from fellow new signing Dave Kitson, while Darren O'Dea came agonisingly close for Ipswich only to volley over.
QPR remain top after beating struggling Middlesbrough. Heidar Helguson broke the deadlock with a 49th-minute penalty and Hogan Ephraim doubled QPR's lead.
Keith Treacy scored but couldn't prevent Preston falling to a fourth defeat of the season as they were stunned by a late comeback from Burnley.
Preston were 3-1 ahead before Chris Iwelumo completed his hat-trick with two strikes before Jay Rodriquez's last-gasp winner.
