Graeme Souness' Team of the Year omits a star and features one very out of form player
Team of the Season selections are almost designed to cause debate but there are always certain players at the end of the year who definitely deserve to be chosen - and many who definitely don't.
In this Premier League campaign, the two big stories have been Leicester's shock surge towards the Premier League title and Chelsea's unfathomable collapse from last season's champions to mid table strugglers.
The man most responsible for the rise of the Foxes has been midfielder Riyad Mahrez, who has 16 goals and 11 assists in this campaign. Despite the Algerian's stellar year, Sky pundit Graeme Souness opted against picking him in his Team of the Season in today's Sunday Times.
That was a pretty shocking omission on its own, but the inclusion of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at right back is even more jaw-dropping.
The Serbian's awful early season form was a big reason that Chelsea started so terribly and the defence as a whole has already conceded ten more goals than they did last year with six games remaining.
What do you make of Souness' selection?
David de Gea, Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld, Daley Blind, Branislav Ivanovic, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Dimitri Payet, Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku (4-3-3).
