owen garvan struck twice in three minutes to give bottom club Crystal Palace a much-needed boost with a thrilling 3-2 Championship win over Watford last night.
But Garvan's former club, Roy Keane's high-flying Ipswich Town, were stunned by Derby with Kris Commons' brace, the first a 20-yard free-kick, doing the damage.
Table-toppers QPR earned a point at Portsmouth thanks to Tommy Smith's last-minute penalty.
Liam Lawrence broke the deadlock with a twice-taken spot-kick -- the first effort was saved by Rangers goalkeeper Paddy Kenny -- after Matthew Connolly was sent off for a professional foul. But Lawrence was himself dismissed after his late handball earned him a second booking and Smith converted from the spot against his former club.
Meanwhile, Andy O'Brien was on the mark for Leeds as they drew 2-2 at home to struggling Hull.
