Forrest earns fifa accolade

Saturday January 21 2012

James Forrest'S good form for Celtic this season has seen the 20-year-old named on a FIFA list of 13 youngsters destined to make a big impression in 2012.

The laid-back winger, though, has welcomed the low-key reaction at Celtic Park to his prestigious accolade.

"I heard about it at the start of the week but nobody here has really said anything about it," he said.

"I am quite glad about that. I just want to continue playing for Celtic."

Forrest, who has missed the last two games with a virus, aims to help the Bhoys extend their winning run in the SPL to 12 games in their lunchtime kick-off away to St Mirren. Victory will put Celtic five points clear of Rangers, who play Aberdeen later in the day.

"It is a big squad and it will be hard, but hopefully I can (get back into the side)," he said.
