THE FAI has refused to divulge why Giovanni Trapattoni and Robbie Keane did not register votes for the Ballon d'Or award, WRITES DANIEL McDONNELL.
Contributions from the Ireland international team were missing when FIFA released the choices of the managers and captains from member nations around the world.
No explanation has been forthcoming from Abbotstown for the absence of Irish input to the process that resulted in Barcelona's Lionel Messi being awarded the gong of the world's best player for 2010.
The FAI remained silent on Tuesday and yesterday a spokesman would only say that the association were "not making any comment".
