FA to investigate alleged spit by Fellaini on Zabaleta

Published 28/03/2014 | 11:15

Marouane Fellaini is under investigation by the Football Association for appearing to spit at Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta.

The incident occurred during Tuesday's Manchester derby at Old Trafford after the Belgian had fouled the City defender.

Fellaini was judged by many to escape with a booking by referee Michael Oliver for elbowing Zabaleta half an hour into the match, before this incident happened immediately afterwards.

Video footage then shows the Belgian turning away from Oliver as the referee gestures for the physio to come onto the pitch and attend to Zabaleta.
