SHANE DUFFY could be in FA Cup action for Everton against Tamworth tomorrow after being called back from a loan spell at Scunthorpe.
Phil Jagielka's injury in the Toffees' Premier League defeat by Bolton on Wednesday has opened the door for the young Irish central defender.
The 19-year-old has been a regular for League One side Scunthorpe since moving there last September to gain some valuable first-team experience.
Meanwhile, another young Irish centre-half is set to further his education in a lower division, with Sunderland's John Egan moving to Crystal Palace for a month.
Egan, son of the Kerry GAA great of the same name, was an integral member of the Irish team in last summer's Euro U-19 Championship finals.
Palace take on Derby in the FA Cup tomorrow and then face Cardiff in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final next Tuesday, with Egan eligible to play in both competitions.
In other news, Hull have confirmed that Manchester United's Dubliner Robbie Brady will be staying on loan with them for the rest of the season after making a good impression.
