Players and fans alike were in celebratory form last night as the Boys in Green booked their place at the European Championships next summer in France.
A 2-0 win over Bosnia ensured a 3-1 win on aggregate and assistant manager Roy Keane said afterwards that the time for focusing on the tournament would follow but last night was all about basking in the glorious moment.
Most popular tweet of the night went to the goal scoring hero Jon Walters who managed to get a selfie with President Michael D. Higgins in the changing room afterwards.
Striker Shane Long, who grabbed some crucial goals during the campaign including the match winner against Germany last month, posted a picture of some of the squad hitting the town to celebrate their qualification.

Midfielder James McClean added pictures from the jubilant changing room while also reminding people that his team were written off from the outset and confounded critics to reach France.
