RTE to show 31 Euro 2012 matches ... but no place on the team for Roy Keane
RTE will show 31 games during Euro 2012 .Montrose will broadcast 27 of these games live, with the other four simultaneous games shown later.
There will also be a nightly highlights programme, for those who miss the live action.
And, the national broadcaster revealed today, every live game of the tournament will also be broadcast in HD. on RTE2 HD.
Former German international - and Spurs and Liverpool star - Didi Hamann will join regulars John Giles, Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady, Kenny Cunningham and Richie Sadlier for analysis.
But there is no room for Roy Keane, who will be part of ITV’s star team.
Bill O’Herlihy and Darragh Maloney will share the anchoring role, with co-commentators Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, Trevor Steven and Brian Kerr teaming up with George Hamilton, Peter Collins, Stephen Alkin and Ger Canning in the commentary boxes.
And Après Match team will be there too to take a jaundiced view of proceedings.
Over on 2fm radio, Hector Ó hEochagain and the 2fm Roadcaster will be travelling to Poznan and Gdansk, where they will broadcast Breakfast With Hector On Tour In Poland everyday.
Gabriel Egan and Eoin Hand will be the 2fm commentators for the three live Irish matches, with presenter Damien O’Meara joined in-studio by experts Kenny Cunningham and Richie Sadlier.
The matches will be followed by special 2fm Ballbuster reaction programmes, where everyone will get to have their say on the proceedings.
