Irish fans looking for Euro 2016 tickets have been handed a major boost today
The Euro 2016 ticket lottery system rewarded some lucky fans but left countless others despairing as they missed out on the chance to see the Boys in Green in action this summer.
Ireland start their group against Sweden in Paris (June 13th) before travelling to Bordeaux to face Belgium (June 18th), finishing in Lille against Italy (June 22nd). Tickets for the games are almost impossible to come by if you missed out on the initial batch released by UEFA, but European football's governing body today released a statement that will massively please those unhappy supporters.
From 9am tomorrow morning, extra tickets will be made available through the official UEFA ticket portal, with fans advised to queue up online at least 15 minutes before they are released.
While it isn't yet known whether any of these new tickets will be for Ireland's group games, fans are better off checking tomorrow morning just in case there is a chance to scoop one up.
"The ticket portal on EURO2016.com will be temporarily taken offline at 18:00 CEST today in order to prepare for the release of some more tickets tomorrow," the UEFA statement said.
"The portal will relaunch tomorrow at 10:00 CEST with these extra tickets, so if you are still searching for tickets to UEFA EURO 2016™, make sure that you join the queue at 09:45 CEST.
"If you prefer to have an overview of the ticket availability without logging onto the ticket portal, matches with tickets available will also be listed.
"Please note that the payment for tickets will be immediate, and that only Visa or Mastercard credit cards will be accepted."
