Gianluigi Buffon proves his undoubted class again with gesture following German defeat

He will go down as arguably one of the greatest keepers in the history of the game and their was an outpouring of emotion as his Italian side exited Euro 2016 last night in gut-wrenching circumstances.
Jonas Hector squeezed the winning penalty under the 38-year-old netminder as Germany won a dramatic penalty shootout 6-5 after the sides had finished 1-1 after 120 minutes of action.
The Juventus legend was straight over to congratulate the Germans, just as he did when Ireland beat the Azzurri in their Group E encounter, and this may be the last we see of the custodian in an Italian jersey.
His post-game tears prompted a huge response on social media:
Admit it, you feel sorry for Buffon. Legend! pic.twitter.com/B3NbOTU6iu— TheFootballCommunity (@Footy_Community) July 2, 2016
Have to be disappointed for Italy and in particular Buffon. But how good is this man...… https://t.co/sw5Vepk9Di— Stephanie Roche (@StephanieRoche9) July 2, 2016
