Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is at the Aviva Stadium tonight and is sitting very close to Shane Long's representative Pat Dolan.
There were plenty of reports in January that Spurs and Liverpool were interested in the Irishman's services.
The Tipperary native joined current club Southampton after the Argentinean had left the Saints for White Hart Lane but Pochettino is a big admirer of the Irish striker.
Long gave Spurs' defensive duo of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld a torrid time when they met at the latter end of the Premier League season.
There have already been reports linking Long with a move to champions Leicester as tehy look to bulk up their squad for Champions League football next season.
This is not the last time this summer there will be speculation over Long's future.
Long scored Ireland's opener tonight after Holland failed to deal with John O'Shea bullet header on the half-hour mark.
