A suspicious package that was discovered at the Stade de France ahead of Ireland's clash with Sweden has been deemed a 'false alarm', according to reports.

French sports media outlet L'Equipe  reported that the item was found 'inside the Stade de France at door G' which is 'two blocks from the infamous door H' that was targeted during last November's terror attacks in Paris.

Sky News is reporting that the Group E clash will continue was planned after the package was found to be a 'false alert'.

The gate has since reopened.
