The Oxford United winger made a good impression in his second half cameo in the 2-1 defeat to Belarus last night and will remain with the squad for a few days at the Fota Island training camp.

O'Dowda , who made his under 21 debut in March 2015, replaced Aiden McGeady with 15 minutes remaining and showed good energy on his debut.

David Forde, Darron Gibson, Eunan O'Kane and David McGoldrick have all left the camp after failing to make the cut for the major tournament.
