Boyzone star Keith Duffy wasn't surprised to be recognised by Irish fans in La Rochelle but was shocked to find they knew the words to his band's hit 'No Matter What'.

The former Coronation street actor is currently cycling trough France to raise money for Clíona's Foundation, a charity which provides finances for families that have children with life-limiting illnesses, and is bumping into a lot of Irish fans on his travels.

A video of supporters signing 'No Matter What' to Duffy has gone viral.

Duffy told Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio One: "I'm over on a charity cycle for Cliona's Foundation and our second stop was in La Rochelle.

"The streets were lined outside the pubs of all the Irish fans, I usually try to hide away because it wasn't that cool to be in a boyband.

"But to my surprise, everybody started singing No Matter What.

"The buzz was brilliant, you've seen on TV the fans from other nations causing all sorts of trouble, but I have to tell you, the Irish people over here are just loved by the locals.

"They're welcomed with open arms because all we do is drink, sing songs and make love."
