Done deals

Striker CARLTON Cole will play Premier League football next season after he signed for Stoke City for £6m.

Blackpool's David Vaughan is Sunderland's ninth signing of the off-season after he joined on a free transfer, while Portugal goalkeeper Jose Moreirais has joined Swansea for £750,000.

LIKELY LADS

LIVERPOOL have allowed Raul Meireles (far right) speak to Juventus and Inter Milan as manager Kenny Dalglish has deemed the Portuguese midfielder surplus to requirements.

And Shay Given's move to Aston Villa appears to be edging closer to completion, while Darron Gibson is still in negotiations with Sunderland, who haven't given up on signing the Ireland international, despite his wage demands.

LONG SHOTS

Arsenal will have to pay €16m if they want to sign Kevin Doyle (left) according to reports, while West Brom are hoping to tempt fellow Ireland striker Shane Long with the promise of first-team football and the No 9 shirt.

And Jimmy Bullard's proposed loan move to QPR is in the balance due to a dispute over who will pay his wages. Hull want the Londoners to stump up for all of the £45,000-a-week deal, while the promoted club only want to pay £30,000.
