The Anfield roar on a European night had been dormant for a few years but it exploded back into life tonight as a late Dejan Lovren header completed a sensational Liverpool comeback and sent them into the Europa League semi-final.
Borussia Dortmund led the home side 2-0 at half time, which left Liverpool needing three goals to progress, something that occurred again later on in the second half after Marco Reus put the Germans 3-1 up.
But goals from Coutinho, Sakho and Lovren stole the tie for Liverpool, and afterwards, striker Divock Origi - who scored the home side's opener - divulged what Jurgen Klopp said at half time to spark the remarkable turnaround.
"The coach said that we had to create a moment that we could tell our children or grandchildren," Origi said.
