UCD will be disappointed to exit the Setanta Cup after a strong second-half showing at New Grosvenor.

Gary Browne put the home side ahead from the penalty spot on 18 minutes. Glenn Ferguson was caught from behind by Yael Haro and Browne blasted home.

The Students piled forward after the break in search of a vital away goal.

Haro headed wide and Graham Rusk was unable to connect when Paul O'Connor shot across goal, before the Whites added a second goal.

After a controversial back-pass decision, Scott Davidson was on hand to fire home.
