Cup giant-killers run riot in France

While the FA Cup may have lost much of its shine, the French equivalent has been full of romantic giant-killings this year, most recently thanks to amateur team Chambery.
The minnows continued their extraordinary cup run this week by defeating Ligue 1's Sochaux 2-1 to knock out a top-flight club for the third match running and progress to the quarter-finals.
With Chambery sitting five places off the top of the fifth tier in French football and Sochaux 10th in the top flight, it's the equivalent of Newcastle being dumped out by Fleetwood Town -- appropriate, given the Magpies' history of cup exits.
The heroes of Chambery included the obligatory tradesman, sports instructor and delivery-man defender Stephane Roux, who was planning a celebration: "Tomorrow I'm telling my boss I'm sick, I'm going to party."
