Cork City star Cummins on way to Preston

Tuesday January 31 2012

GRAHAM CUMMINS was last night on the verge of completing a €100,000 move from Cork City to Preston North End.

Voted PFAI First Division Player of the Year for the past two seasons, the 24-year-old striker has been linked with a move across the water and was in discussions with the League One side last night. He will join Arsenal's Ireland U-21 forward Rhys Murphy, who joined Graham Westley's side on loan until the end of the season yesterday.

Sligo Rovers have recaptured goalkeeper Richard Brush who spent the second half of last season at Shamrock Rovers.

Paul Cook has also re-signed two-time FAI Cup final penalty shootout hero Ciaran Kelly, who will act as cover for Gary Rogers and Brush, while also coaching the goalkeepers at the Showgrounds. Winger John Dillon has also re-signed.

Derry City also received a financial boost after they completed the sale of former Celtic left-back Daniel Lafferty to Championship side Burnley for £150,000.

Meanwhile, Drogheda United have signed defender Johnny Breen from local rivals Dundalk.
