Norwich have announced that Republic of Ireland international Wes Hoolahan has signed a new deal with the club.
The Dubliner has extended his stay at Carrow Road until at least 2018.
Hoolahan has played 338 times in all competitions for the Canaries over the past eight years, scoring 45 times.
The 34-year-old carried his form from Euro 2016 into pre-season with City, scoring a sweetly struck long-range effort against Coventry City before gaining plaudits for two wonderfully taken goals against Hannover 96 at Carrow Road.
Speaking after the Hannover 96 game, manager Alex Neil underlined Hoolahan’s importance to City’s promotion bid during the season to come.
“Wes has always been a special player for us,” he said.
“More often than not, he’s the one I turn to when I need someone to deliver something for me, and he never really lets me down.
“He’s a quality player. We all know his qualities. He’ll be key for us this year.”
