Cisse misses cost Sunderland dear

Niall Quinn revealed this week that Djibril Cisse's wayward shooting during his time at Sunderland was more costly than fans thought.
The chairman said that they had agreed a settlement with a fan who sued the club after being hit by a stray shot from their former striker in a practice session in 2008-09.
"It knocked a supporter out. It was quite serious," said Quinn -- since then Sunderland no longer allow fans to watch the team train.
Cisse did score 11 goals in his 38 games during his season on loan, but given the number of efforts that ended up in the crowd, they could be opening up a hornet's nest of lawsuits.
