Chile will be without defender Gonzalo Jara for the remainder of the Copa America after South American ruling body punished him for poking a finger between an opponent's buttocks.
Governing body Conmebol issued Jara with a three-game ban, meaning he'll miss tonight's semi-final with Peru and the 99-year-old tournament's July 4 final should his team get there. Chile is trying to win the game's oldest regional competition for the first time.
"We are looking for some alternatives for a replacement, keeping in mind that Gonzalo had been playing an extraordinary cup," coach Jorge Sampaoli said.
Chile's 1-0 quarter-final victory over Uruguay sent them to the tournament's semi-final for the first time in 16 years. The achievement was overshadowed by Jara's clash with opposing striker Edinson Cavani.
Cavani was sent off for his second yellow card after brushing Jara's face with his hand in response to the Chilean's gesture which the referee didn't see.
