CARLO Ancelotti, Paris St Germain's newly-appointed coach, has revealed that the French club have been offered Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and a string of other top names.

Ancelotti signed the 27 year-old from Liverpool for £50m in last season's January transfer window but the Spaniard has struggled to find consistent form, netting just three times in 17 starts.

And Ancelotti has now claimed that he has been offered the Chelsea striker barely one year on.

"There is a lot of choice for this January market," Ancelotti told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Do you want the names? OK, now I tell you the players that agent are offering on the market, officially or not: Tévez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente."

If Torres does stay at Stamford Bridge then Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will be hoping the Spaniard finds his goalscoring boots sooner rather than later as the club bids farewell to Ivory Coast duo Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Drogba, who is at loggerheads with Chelsea over his future, has been the club's best striker this season and his absence will become even more acute should Torres fail to rediscover his best form

Meanwhile, Petr Cech has insisted Chelsea's season of transition is no excuse for them ending up empty-handed after seeing their squad bolstered by further reinforcements.

He said: "We want, ourselves, to win something. We don't want to go another season without trophies, so our aim is to end this season with silverware.

"We're doing everything in our power to achieve that, alongside the transformation and transition of the team. I think it will be a good year to build on for the future."
