Richard Dunne is not one bit impressed with Arsenal players after dressing room photo
Richard Dunne and Rio Ferdinand were quick to criticise Arsenal’s players as they posted a photo of their dressing room celebrations after their comfortable 6-0 Champions League win against Ludogorets at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal hat-trick hero Mesut Ozil posted the message on his social media page, sparking familiar criticism of for Arsenal players who have come under fire after posing for similar images in recent years.
“It’s great when you win something, but not a group stage in a competition,” former Ireland captain Dunne told BT Sport. “Arsenal have always been undone by not winning trophies.”
Dunne’s views were backed up by his fellow pundit and ex-Man Utd star Rio Ferdinand, who was also unimpressed by Arsenal’s over-excitement as they hammered second-rate opposition on home soil.
“I have said it before, I wouldn’t be doing that until I have got my hands on a trophy,” stated 2008 Champions League winner Ferdinand. “If that is what the boys want to do…it’s a new age.”
Arsenal’s stars may point to a similar picture posted by Barcelona star Neymar with his team-mates Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi after their win against Manchester City on Wednesday night as evidence that their joy was not misplaced, with this image quickly attracting huge attention on Twitter:

Arsenal’s players will be aiming to silence their critics by posing with dressing room photos with the Champions League trophy after the final of the competition in Cardiff next May, but they have a long way to go to turn that dream into reality.
Ozil backed up his image with this video showing him returning home with his hat-trick match ball:
