Ireland's Aiden McGeady impressed as Spartak Moscow beat Slovakian side Zilna 3-0, Brazilian striker Ari scoring twice and Ibson netting a third to give Spartak two wins out of two in Group F.
Ari's first came in the 34th minute, when he looped a header over goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. The ball was cleared, but correctly adjudged to have crossed the line.
He tapped the ball into an empty net from Dmitri Kombarov's low cross in the 64th minute to double the lead. Ari's compatriot, Ibson, then struck in the last minute.
Spartak outclassed their opponents, with Brazilian midfielder Alex and winger McGeady orchestrating most of their attacks.
In the so-called 'Group of Death', Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Clarence Seedorf combined to help AC Milan salvage a 1-1 draw at their former side, Ajax, in a frenetic Group G encounter.
Forward Mounir El Hamdaoui put the hosts ahead on 23 minutes when Uruguay striker Luis Suarez showed great skill to ghost past Alessandro Nesta and square the ball for his team-mate to thump home.
Milan levelled on 37 minutes when Seedorf found Ibrahimovic and the tall Swede controlled superbly before smashing an awkwardly bouncing ball into the net from close range, despite Ajax's appeals for offside.
In the other Group G game, substitute Angel Di Maria scored a late winner as Real Madrid won 1-0 at Auxerre.
Right-back Alvaro crossed in the 81st minute and Di Maria controlled it with his chest and beat goalkeeper Olivier Sorin with a powerful shot to send Jose Mourinho's side top of the table.
