Dundalk now know exactly which five sides they could be matched with in Friday's Champions League playoff draw following a dramatic night of action across Europe.

The Champions League play-off round is split into two separate sections: Champions Route (for league champions) and League Route (for league non-champions).

This means that Dundalk cannot face the likes of Manchester City, Porto  or Roma, because they can only face teams who come through Champions Route.

The Irish champions already knew that they could potentially be pitted against Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus or Viktoria Plzen from the Czech Republic and, after tonight, the remaining seeded sides have emerged.

Red Bull Salzburg who beat FK Partizani, while Celtic, of course, edged out Astana as Legia Warsaw narrowly defeated Trencin.
