Olympique Marseille scored twice in the last five minutes as they came from 2-0 behind to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 away last night to snatch a place in the last 16.
Mathieu Valbuena's spectacular 87th-minute winner saw Marseille grab second place by one point from Olympiakos, who beat Group F winners Arsenal 3-1 and presumed they were going through.
Meanwhile, two late goals gave Viktoria Plzen a 2-2 draw with AC Milan in their Group H match and secured a place for the home team in the Europa League.
In Group G, Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia qualified at the top of the group despite losing to Shakhtar Donetsk. Zenit St Petersburg finished second.
Barcelona have plenty of exciting talent coming through the ranks with a team of youngsters lighting up the Nou Camp in a 4-0 drubbing of basement side BATE Borisov in Group H.
Coach Pep Guardiola blooded a slew of youth-school players as the holders had comfortably reached the last 16 as group winners last month.
