Fabio Capello will still consider Andy Carroll for the England squad to face France next week, despite further lurid headlines about the Newcastle striker's private life.
Carroll scored the winner against Arsenal at the Emirates in front of a watching Capello but, along with Kevin Nolan, could be the focus of a police investigation after allegations that class A drugs were used at Nolan's house by two women.
Both Nolan and Carroll -- who has been living at his captain's home in Ponteland, Northumberland, as part of bail conditions following a court appearance over an assault allegation -- have denied any wrongdoing. Even so, the players face the prospect of being questioned by police after allegations that the two women used cocaine at Nolan's home in a night of celebration following the 5-1 win over Sunderland.
