Carlo Ancelotti: There has been no contact from United and I want to stay at Madrid

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he has had no contact from Manchester United and wants to remain at Real Madrid for “a long time.”

Since United removed David Moyes from his position at Old Trafford last week, Ancelotti has been one for the front runners to replace the Scot in the summer along with Dutchman Louis van Gaal.

Speculation has suggested that the Italian would be open to the move. He is familiar with the league from his time at Stamford Bridge and would bring the experience and success that would be welcomed by the United board.

The former Chelsea manager is in Munich preparing for Madrid’s semi-final second leg against Bayern tomorrow night and took the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the Spanish side.

“I haven't had contact with Manchester United,” he said at today’s press conference.

“I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. It is strange to answer question like that before a semi.”

Madrid will take a one goal advantage into the tie at the Allianz Arena against the reigning champions with a place in the final in Lisbon awaiting the victors.
