Brady on . . .
Shay Given's situation
"Nothing surprises me in football anymore. Nothing will surprise me with what happens at Man City. They have made no bones about it -- they are trying to buy the title. Now I would have thought if they were going to win the title they would have to have two excellent goalkeepers -- and they have them at the moment. I was a bit bemused by Mancini saying that Shay could go. I thought he would have said Shay would have to fight for his place. I don't know what Man City would do if Hart got injured and Shay wasn't there. They would leave themselves looking a bit foolish -- unless they are going to spend another £20m on a goalkeeper."
Arsene Wenger's need
to win a trophy
"I think overwhelmingly the majority of the support is behind him (Wenger). He said that winning the League Cup doesn't compare to getting into the qualifying for the Champions League, which he's done for the last 12 years on the trot. We know we need a trophy. But I wouldn't be saying that he needs it desperately this season."
Watching Ireland as
a spectator again
"I was at the match last week (versus Argentina) and I was looking out at the pitch in the warm-up and that thought (missing it) crossed my mind. I made the decision because this is what my job is all about. I think Marco (Tardelli) is improving (in terms of his English). The role I had, to explain certain things to the team, he can handle that now. I took that into consideration when I made the decision."
