Ireland will take on Portugal and Costa Rica in America this summer as both teams gear up for their World Cup preparations.

It has been confirmed that Martin O’Neill’s men face the Costa Ricans in New Jersey on June 6th at PPL Park (1am 7 June, Irish time), while four days later the squad will travel to Philadelphia to take on Portugal at the Met Life Stadium (12.45am 11 June, Irish time).

Costa Rica are in the same World Cup group as England and will view the fixture as a valuable warm-up ahead of facing Roy Hodgson’s side.

Additional fixtures have already been confirmed for the summer in the Irish side’s schedule, including Turkey on 25 May at the Aviva Stadium, as well as Italy on 31 May at Craven Cottage.
