IT IS difficult to oppose Barcelona in any game but – given Milan's improvement in form since their terrible start to the season, the game being in the San Siro, and Lionel Messi's not very impressive recent record against Italian opposition – the odds were generous.
It is impossible to make a case that Milan should have been anywhere near favourites for the last-16 clash, but saying that they wouldn't beat Barcelona at home if the game was played five times – which is what the odds suggested – seemed a little far-fetched.
