Martin O’Neill will have to do without Kevin Doyle, Andy Reid and Rob Elliot for next week’s friendly international with Serbia.

The FAI today confirmed that the trio have been ruled out of next Wednesday’s clash at the Aviva and will be released back to their respective clubs.

A thigh injury rules out Wexford native Doyle, while Nottingham Forest midfielder Reid has not been able to overcome a groin injury.

A knee injury has put paid to Elliot appearing, though the FAI has said there are no plans to make any call-ups to the squad.
