All hail the King! Totti rolls back the years with glorious four minute match-winning two goal cameo
He has not lost it. Francesco Totti may be a few months away from the big 40, but he showed Roma fans tonight that as long as the great man still has his boots on, he is liable to do something special.
It has been a tough season for the veteran, who has struggled for playing time as manager Luciano Spalletti opts for younger talent, but tonight, with Roma trailing Torino 2-1 at home, Totti was called upon with four minutes to go to save his side.
And just as the World Cup-winner has done since making his debut in 1992, he gave everything for his club. He matched his season goal tally in a glorious sojourn on the pitch, netting in the 87th and 89th minute to secure a last-gasp victory to maintain Roma's comfortable third place position.
Naturally, football fans queued up to luxuriate in the playmaker's brilliance.
No words to describe what #Totti did today. Only tears: of joy, of sadness, of anger. There is only one king of Rome.— Luis Nunez (@Romacuba) April 20, 2016
