Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh this transfer window but may still try and sign the 25 year-old Morocco striker when his contract expires in the summer.

West Ham's Carlton Cole and France striker Andre-Pierre Gignac are possible targets, and Wenger has made a £3.5million move for Brazilian teenager Wellington Silva, though the deal will not be completed until his 18th birthday in a year's time.

Wenger is also rumoured to be contemplating a move for 15-year-old QPR prodigy Raheem Sterling and could fight it out with rivals Tottenham for 21-year-old Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach.

Aston Villa

Craig Gardner is likely to leave the club after five years at Villa Park, with both Wolves and Birmingham interested.

In addition, Carlos Cuèllar has attracted the interest of Real Madrid and Emile Heskey could also depart as he searches for regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup.

Villa are rumoured to be in the hunt for promising West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans, but will have to compete with Birmingham, Everton, Stoke and Sunderland for his signature.

Arsenal

Birmingham City

Birmingham have made their first move of the window by offering Liverpool £8 million for Ryan Babel. New chairman Carson Yeung is looking to bring in two or three new players; the club has made a fresh offer for Rangers striker Kris Boyd, while other targets include Aston Villa's Craig Gardner and Sporting Gijon's Michel. Peterborough striker Aaron McLean could be available for £4m.

Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn have been linked with a swap deal for Stoke's James Beattie that could see Jason Roberts moving in the other direction. Sam Allardyce is also rumoured to be chasing St Etienne midfielder Amine Linganzi Koumba and Portsmouth's Nadir Belhadj, and he could also move for Monaco's Eidur Gudjohnsen, who played for him at Bolton a decade ago.

Bolton Wanderers

Whoever replaces Gary Megson at the Reebok will have several possible transfer leads to follow up: Real Madrid midfielder Guti and Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic may be available on loan, while a permanent deal for in-form striker Ivan Klasnic also needs to be finalised. The club have also been linked with Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes.

Burnley

Cash-strapped Burnley could join the chase for Stoke striker James Beattie, and may try to sign Tottenham's Gareth Bale on loan. Owen Coyle may also be considering a cheeky loan move for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, and has to option to purchase on-loan striker David Nugent from Portsmouth for £1m.

Chelsea

Giampaolo Pazzini of Sampdoria is the latest big name to have been linked with Chelsea, who are planning a huge January spree as they try to beat their impending transfer ban. Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, Ajax's Luis Suarez and Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko are rumoured to top Carlo Ancelotti's shopping list, while the club have again been linked with Valencia's David Villa who would set them back around £40m.

The club could also move for Monaco midfielder Jerko Leko, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribery.

Everton

David Moyes is reportedly interested in Atlètico Madrid's Argentine international midfielder Maxi Rodriguez after securing a loan deal for LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan, while teenager Maxime Lestienne could join from Belgian side Mouscron. Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne, currently on loan at Portsmouth, is being lined up as a replacement for the errant Jo.

Philippe Senderos could join from Arsenal, and Everton are also pondering a loan move for former Gunners winger Jose Antonio Reyes.

Fulham

Stefano Okaka, who scored the winner for Roma against Fulham in the Europa League, could move to Craven Cottage after impressing Roy Hodgson. The striker’s agent has confirmed the Italy Under-20 international would be willing to join Fulham on loan.

The 20 year-old could be allowed to leave Roma on loan following the arrival of Luca Toni from Bayern Munich.

Okaka’s agent Domenico Scopelliti said: “The deal will be a possible loan for six or 18 months. Fulham’s a great opportunity and Okaka would prefer this over Serie A options.”

Hodgson could also try and sign Tottenham defender Alan Hutton to boost his defence, and may also be preparing an audacious loan bid for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere. The club have been linked with Wigan's Paul Scharner.

Hull City

Hull are seeking to secure Manchester City strikers Benjani and Felipe Caicedo on loan, and are one of a number of clubs reputedly interested in Sol Campbell, who is a free agent after leaving Notts County, and may also try and sign Rangers striker Kris Boyd for £1m. American starlet Freddy Adu would cost around £1.5m from Benfica.

Liverpool

Rafa Benítez hopes to beat Tottenham to the signature of Maxi Rodriguez, the Atletico Madrid and Argentina winger, in the coming days and has not yet ruled out a controversial move for Ruud van Nistelrooy, Real Madrid’s former Manchester United striker.

West Ham's Scott Parker has been linked with the club, as has Crystal Palace's highly-rated teenager Victor Moses, while Liverpool retain their interest in Aston Villa's Emile Heskey.

Ryan Babel, Andrei Voronin, Andrea Dossena and Philip Degen will be sold to fund Benítez's forays into the transfer market.

Babel is the subject of an £8m bid by Birmingham, Voronin is wanted by Dinamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow and Dossena has reportedly already been sold to Napoli for £4m.

Manchester City

Patrick Vieira may be Roberto Mancini's first signing, with reports suggesting that City have agreed a deal with Inter Milan. The club are also in discussions with Russian champions Rubin Kazan about signing Argentina international left-back Cristian Ansaldi.

Moves for Juventus's Giorgio Chilellini, Portsmouth's Younes Kaboul, Bolton's Gary Cahill, Bari defender Leonardo Bonucci and West Ham's Matthew Upson have all been rumoured, as well as an ambitious link with Barcelona forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But City are understood to be cooling on Inter Milan pair Maicon and Ivan Cordoba.

Manchester United

The future of Nemanja Vidic is also in doubt, with Real Madrid poised to make a bid for the defender.

Nani is also set to leave the club, and could be used as part of an exchange deal for Benfica winger Angel di Maria, regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Europe. Sir Alex Ferguson could also sign Serbian defender Uros Cosic and attempt to hijack rivals Manchester City's move for Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The club are believed to be considering a £20m move for Porto striker Hulk. French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could come in to replace for Edwin van der Sar, who is away on compassionate leave, but Fiorentina's Sebastian Frey has ruled out a similar move.

Portsmouth

Avram Grant is unlikely to be allowed a January spending spree, given the club's precarious financial state and its current transfer ban. Nevertheless, they have been linked with Wigan midfielder Oliver Kapo and could swoop for Benfica defender Miguel Vitor on loan. Marseille winger Hatem Ben Arfa, though, looks like staying put.

Stoke City

Stoke are thinking big as they search for a striker. Sunderland's Kenwyne Jones, Ryan Babel and Emile Heskey are all big-name possibilities as the club looks likely to offload James Beattie. Meanwhile, Pulis is rumoured to have entered the race for West Ham's Scott Parker., and they could try and sign Barcelona prodigy Oriel Romeu on loan.

Sunderland

Steve Bruce could carry out a triple raid on Tottenham, with Alan Hutton, Michael Dawson and David Bentley on the radar. The club may battle it out with Newcastle for Manchester United's Danny Simpson, and with Tottenham for Wigan's Maynor Figueroa, while a move for Coventry goalkeeper Keiren Westwood is also on the cards.

Tottenham Hotspur

While Liverpool remains the likely destination for Maxi Rodriguez reports in Spain claim the Atlético Madrid midfielder has emerged as a target for Tottenham with David Bentley a possible make-weight in any deal.

Bentley is surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane but the former Blackburn winger could be used to lure Rodríguez if talks over his wages at Anfield fail.

Spurs have also been linked with an audacious £12m move for Micah Richards of Manchester City, and have discussed a cash-plus-player deal with Inter Milan for Sulley Muntari that would see Jermaine Jenas going to the San Siro.

Peterborough captain George Boyd, Portsmouth goalkeeper David James, Wigan's Maynor Figueroa and West Ham's Matthew Upson have all been linked with moves to White Hart Lane, even though Harry Redknapp has been told to sell before he buys.

West Ham United

Alessandro Diamanti the 26-year-old striker, has dismissed reports linking him with a move to AC Milan. The Italian has emerged as a crucial member of West Ham’s fight for survival, with five goals in nine Premier League starts.

The former Livorno striker is being courted by Milan but insisted his only aim is to keep West Ham up. He said: “I know nothing of these items about Milan and honestly I’m not interested in them.

"Right now,I think only about the salvation of West Ham, I don’t care about anything else. What will I do in case of a calling from Milan in January? I don’t know.”.

But with Scott Parker and Matthew Upson linked with moves away, Robert Huth of Stoke and Benfica veteran Nuno Gomes are potential transfer targets. Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu, highly-rated 18-year-old Belgian winger Geoffrey Hairemans and James Beattie are also in the frame, while the club could also make a £2.5m swoop for Tours striker Olivier Giroud.

Gianfranco Zola is also keeping tabs on former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman. The Serb could move on loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.

Wigan Athletic

Roberto Martinez is rumoured to be lining up a £3m bid for Leicester's in-form striker Matty Fryatt. Chilean defender Waldo Ponce and Ivorian Steve Gohouri of Borussia Moenchengladbach are two of his other options, while the club has also been keeping an eye on Livingston winger Andrew Halliday and Celtic striker Scott McDonald.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves, who sold Neil Collins to Preston on Tuesday for £750,000, are believed to be in talks with Toulouse winger Fodé Mansaré over a six-month loan deal, with a view to a permanent move.

England under-21 star Craig Gardner could also move to Molineux from Aston Villa, and Mick McCarthy is also rumoured to be looking at West Brom midfielder Robert Koren, Birmingham's Lee Carsley and Celtic winger Niall McGinn.
