Women's Sevens moving in right direction

It appears to have slipped under the radar in the light of the Mike McCarthy furore at exactly the same time, but the 'it' to which I refer is an impressive IRFU media release to the effect that the Irish women's squad will be kicking off preparation for the 2013 World Cup Sevens by participating in the IRB Women's Sevens World series in China next year.

Ireland is one of a number of teams invited to participate in the preliminary tournaments planned for the USA, Netherlands and China.

The invited countries will have the opportunity to play against six core teams with preparation for the RWC Sevens in Moscow part of their plans.

Heartiest congratulations to all concerned in decision-making land – but please enlighten us as to where and when you will be sending the lads.
