Wolohan the hero as Bray progress

Friday February 10 2012

A try from left-wing Eamonn Wolohan in the 64th minute in Kilternan earned Pres Bray a quarter-final spot with the winners of Sunday's encounter between St Michael's and Castleknock.

This was an even affair, with both sides always keen to use the ball in testing conditions. Wesley opened the scoring when No 8 Padraig Cullen crashed over after some good phases, with captain Andrew Scanlon then supplying a penalty.

Pres Bray began to up the ante in attack and right-wing Darren Walsh made the pressure pay when touching down. Fly-half Conor Byrne then levelled matters going into the final quarter with a penalty.

It was a scenario that needed a hero and up stepped Wolohan, who had moved to scrum-half, when he popped up on the outside of the Wesley defence to score the winning try.
