Williams set for switch

Hugh Farrelly

MUNSTER back-row Nick Williams is understood to be in advanced negotiations with the Ospreys regarding a possible switch to Wales.

Williams joined Munster from the Auckland Blues at the start of last season having impressed regularly in the Super 14. However, his time with Tony McGahan's men has been dogged by injury and fitness issues and he has made just nine starts for Munster in two seasons with four further appearances off the bench.

He is said to be in contract talks with the Ospreys although a move to the lucrative Japan league is also an option. Williams' fellow Kiwi Jeremy Manning is also expected to leave the province at the end of the season.
