The struggles of rugby players who are suffering in their day-to-day lives with the effect of concussion have been brought into sharp focus by this BBC Sport video.
The evidence of the long term effects that repeated concussions on the brain are undisputed and are scaring associations involved in contact sports into action.
Former Scotland international John Beattie has been conducting interviews with former players who are suffering from the effects of years of head injuries.
Beattie worked on a documentary last year which focused on concussion and former players have been contacting him ever since.
John Shaw played 22 times for the Glasgow Warriors between 1996-2000. In 2007, he suffered a heart-attack while playing for a Scottish Classics XV.
Beattie posted a video on his Twitter account showing a clip from a video of his interview with Shaw where the he suffers a 'cut out moment' after being asked a question.
What's even more striking about the moment itself, is the fact that Shaw is aware of it and it appears to have become a factor, outside of his control, in his everyday life.
