The BBC are reporting that Ulster are set to announce the high-profile signing of South African back row forward Ryan Kankowski

Yesterday long-time Ulster target Victor Vito revealed that he will join La Rochelle next season, but Ulster fans will be excited at the prospect of the 30-year-old coming to Kingspan Ravenhill to replace the departing Nick Williams.

Kankowski, who can operate at flanker or number eight, had appeared 20 times for the Springboks and started against the British and Irish Lions in 2009.

Director of Rugby Les Kiss said last week that he expects to unveil two big-name signings ahead of next season.

"There's a couple more announcements to be made over the next few weeks," he said.

"Maybe in two, four, five weeks. We'd hope that people are very excited by what we have coming up. We think it's exciting."
