Two Irish-based players feature on list of the world's highest paid rugby players

Irish rugby might not have the same war chest to offer stars that is available to the French and English but as this list shows, they can still offer a couple of marquee salaries.
With rumours that Wasps are set to add to their star-studded group by making Aussie flanker David Pocock the world's highest paid player, The Telegraph have put together an interesting list charting the top wages in the sport.
A lot of eyebrows were raised when Charles Piutau left the All Blacks to join Ulster, but his reported salary makes the decision easier to understand.
Elsewhere on the list, Johnny Sexton has clearly been well compensated for his years of stellar play at out-half.
The top of the list is a bit of a surprise though, with Japan rugby star Ayumu Goromaru reportedly earning more money than any other player despite a thoroughly underwhelming stint in Super Rugby this year with the Reds.
Still, Mourad Boudjellal saw fit to sign him for Toulon, so the fullback's earnings won't diminish in the slightest.
Were Pocock to sign with the English club, he would apparently move to the top of the list but as things stand, this is the top 15 highest paid players in the world, according to The Telegraph.
