Irish rugby player Sean O'Brien.

Sean O’Brien may be missing out on a tilt at the Six Nations title, but he has been making the most of Cheltenham week.

The Leinster star travelled to the famous racecourse for a slice of the action and received the full VIP treatment.

With his teammates in Paris aiming to lower French colours tomorrow to claim the Six Nations, the ‘Tullow Tank’ has been availing of his time off and was splashing the cash in 21 Club on Wednesday night before bar management looked after the Lions player.

The 27 year-old was accompanied by friends and was happy to talk to bar staff about the big weekend of rugby ahead.

“It was a great night at Cheltenham so he wanted to make the most of it,” a source said.

“He paid for the champagne and drinks for his friends and some admirers.”

O’Brien is currently sidelined following surgery on a shoulder injury.
