Bruff's roller-coaster season continued at Kilballyowen Park thanks to a powerful second-half performance.

Crucially, a minute into first-half stoppage time, Terenure's Brian Blaney was sin-binned, allowing Brian Cahill to make it 6-3 at the interval with his second penalty.

With Blaney still in the bin, Bruff pounced after the break for their first try when full-back Pat Thompson broke through to dive over, enabling Cahill to convert and add to his two first-half penalties.

It was only then that Bruff began to open up their play and their second try was a superb effort by second-row Alan Burke, who ran in from half way. Substitute Peter Malone rounded off another terrific move of fluent, swift passing for the third try and back-row Dave Gardiner put the issue beyond all doubt with a late fourth try.

Terenure did well in the first half but they had to wait until the 71st minute for their first try by scrum-half Mark Mahony, which out-half Dave McAllister converted, and he also kicked a penalty in each half and saw another effort hit an upright.
