Super diversion a real own goal

THE Magners League are not unused to creating spectacular own goals but their latest wheeze could be the best one yet.

The ML are lining up a 'Super Sunday' on Sunday week, May 9, to complete the series of matches with simultaneous kick-offs -- Blues v Munster, Ospreys v Dragons, Scarlets v Glasgow and Leinster v Edinburgh -- which affect the play-offs.

Leinster, Glasgow and the Ospreys are already guaranteed play-off spots, but will be looking for wins in order to secure home semi-finals with a top-two finish.

The remaining top-four place is being contested by Munster, Blues and Edinburgh, with the Dragons now out of the equation.

It's standard practice to ensure fair play on the final day of a league -- the all-consuming English soccer Premier League will do the same ... on the same day ... at the same time. D'oh! DK
