NEWBRIDGE COLLEGE cruised into the quarter-finals with an emphatic seven-try victory at Westmanstown.
The Kildare side crossed for two tries on their way to a 17-0 lead at half-time – indeed, the game was just nine minutes old when Colm Stapleton covered some 70 yards on his way to the tryline.
Wesley enjoyed good field position for the rest of the half, but failed to score. Newbridge punished them just before half-time when Mike Joyce scored a try.
After the break winger Gavin Burke danced in under the posts to begin a second-half rout that included four more tries. Newbridge now move into the last eight, matching their senior side, who are also in the quarter-finals.
