Stade look to get one over on old foes

Published 29/04/2011 | 05:00

Stade Francais welcome Clermont Auvergne to Stade Charlety in the Challenge Cup semi-final tonight, two weeks after Michael Cheika's charges suffered a 20-12 Top 14 defeat at the hands of the French champions, WRITES Ruaidhri O'Connor.

Mathieu Bastareaud will go head-to-head with Aurelien Rougerie in a cataclysmic battle at outside centre, while Julien Dupuy faces off against Morgan Parra at scrum-half.

Clermont may have their eye on the Top 14, so Stade should progress as a result and Munster may yet get another date with their old friend from Leinster, Cheika.
